League of Legends players advocate for a significant overhaul of this anti-healing item

Fixing the League of Legends Chemtech Putrifier: Community’s Suggestions

Players of the popular game League of Legends are discussing potential fixes for the Chemtech Putrifier, one of the game’s controversial Grievous Wounds options. The item, which has healing/shielding power and increases Ability Power and Ability Haste, lacks sufficient incentives for players to purchase it.

According to a thread on the League subreddit, players are suggesting that the anti-healing effect of the Putrifier should be activated after healing and shielding allies, rather than only dealing magic damage. Previously, the item applied Grievous Wounds on champions’ damage-dealing attacks or abilities after they were healed or shielded. This change, which occurred in Patch 13.1b, has not been well-received by players.

Support players, who often struggle with dealing damage, believe that reverting the item to its previous state would provide more value to the Putrifier. They argue that healing and shielding are the core strengths of these champions, and the item should align with their playstyle.

The current consensus is that the Putrifier is cost-effective and beneficial for enchanter supports. By increasing Ability Power and healing/shielding power, the item enhances their effectiveness. However, it has been suggested that magic-damage-dealing mid laners should opt for other anti-healing items like Liandry’s Anguish or Morellonomicon, while supports focus on different build paths.

The community acknowledges that the Putrifier had to be changed because it was previously the most potent anti-healing item, allowing supports to handle all healing on their own. Currently, mages with Liandry’s Anguish are considered the best for anti-healing, thanks to the extended duration of their Liandry burn. However, the Putrifier remains a valuable item due to its low cost and stat buffs.

For now, there are no plans to nerf any anti-healing items in Patch 13.20. Any significant changes to the Putrifier are likely to be introduced during the upcoming LoL preseason.
