League of Legends Champions to Receive New Halloween Skins in Fright Nights Line
League of Legends players are in for a treat as some of the mischievous champions on the Rift will be getting new outfits to match the upcoming Halloween season.
Urgot, Draven, Trundle, Renata Glasc, Annie, and Nautilus will be the first champions to receive skins from the new horror movie-themed Fright Nights skin line. These skins were recently added to the PBE during an update, indicating that they are likely to be released in Patch 12.18.
Fright Nights Skins Revealed
During a preview of this year’s preseason, Riot teased the Goth skin line being transformed into Fright Night skins. Although Nautilus wasn’t initially included in the teaser, the champion will now be part of this set. At the moment, there isn’t any splash art available for the Nautilus skin on the PBE.
Mixed Reactions from the League Community
When the Fright Nights skins were first revealed, the League of Legends community had mixed reactions. Fans were initially expecting the skins to build upon the Goth skin line, but Riot took a different approach and focused on the horror theme. Annie is the only champion from the original Goth skin line to receive a Fright Night skin, while Amumu and Orianna may potentially join this new universe in the future.
Inspired by Tim Burton
The design of the Fright Night skins appears to be influenced by the work of filmmaker Tim Burton, known for his contributions to the horror genre. Films like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice seem to have directly inspired the designs of Urgot and Renata Glasc’s skins.
Release Date and Further Skins
The Fright Night skins are expected to be released alongside Patch 12.18 on September 21, marking the start of the Halloween celebrations in League of Legends. It is still uncertain if Riot plans to revisit the Bewitching line since these new skins are being released before October.
