League of Legends’ Mythic item in ARAM is receiving another nerf

Heartsteel Mythic Item to Receive Nerf in ARAM Only

The newest Mythic item in League of Legends, Heartsteel, is set to be nerfed in the ARAM game mode. Lead designer Matt Leung-Harrison confirmed this today.

Heartsteel has quickly become a popular pick in the preseason, earning a reputation as one of the strongest items in the meta.

In a recent tweet, Leung-Harrison shared the details of the upcoming nerf, stating that the item’s Permanent Health Gained in ARAM will be reduced from 10% to 5%.

This adjustment comes after the item received a global nerf to its active skill earlier this month. However, only the ARAM game mode will be affected by the upcoming nerf.

Reasoning Behind the Nerf

The decision to nerf Heartsteel in ARAM specifically is based on the item’s polarizing nature, as it can lead to frustrating gameplay experiences.

Despite its imbalance, the item will not be adjusted on Summoner’s Rift, as it is not considered too strong overall. While it may be a must-buy for certain champions, this is intended for any item in the game. Additionally, Heartsteel is more effective in lower-level play than in high Elo matches.

The tank meta will be closely monitored, and further adjustments to the item may be made in the future.

About Heartsteel Mythic Item

Heartsteel is a new Mythic item introduced in League of Legends’ preseason. It provides significant benefits for tanks, including increased health, base health regeneration, and ability haste.

One of its standout features is the unique active skill called Colossal Consumption. This ability charges a special attack that deals bonus damage based on the character’s maximum health.

Players can expect the adjustments to Heartsteel to be implemented in Patch 12.23 on December 7, along with other changes to tank champions and items.
