League of Legends community donates over $7 million for charity through Elderwood Ornn campaign

League of Legends Charity Skin Raises $7 Million for Social Impact Fund

In December 2020, Riot Games released the Elderwood Ornn skin as part of their charity fundraiser for the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. This skin, which was priced at 1,350 RP (approx. $10), raised over $7 million for charity from the end of last year to early January. The funds raised surpassed the previous year’s record set by Dawnbringer Karma, which raised $6 million.

Riot Games expressed their gratitude to the fans for their support and encouraged them to participate in this year’s charity fundraiser to continue making a positive impact in the world.

The Riot Games Social Impact Fund was established in 2019 as a philanthropic venture fund. It allows Riot Games to directly invest in various global organizations working towards solving pressing global issues.

Since its inception, the League of Legends community has raised over $13 million for charity through this fund. This amount does not include the donations made for previous charity skins like Dark Star Cho’Gath in 2018 before the fund was created.

The funds raised have been donated to more than 25 different causes worldwide. The Riot Games Social Impact Fund operates independently from Riot Games as a developer and publisher, and all funding is dedicated to achieving positive social impact.
