League of Legends community demands permanent deletion of Yuumi following MSI ban

Yuumi’s Unpopularity in League of Legends Leads to Calls for Removal

In the world of League of Legends, there is perhaps no champion more disliked than Yuumi, the Magical Cat. Even after her recent Season 13 rework, this floating feline support continues to struggle with low win rates across all ranks, making her a divisive addition to any team.

As the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational approaches, it comes as no surprise that Yuumi, along with the new enchanter support Milio, will be disabled for the event. Riot Games has stated that Yuumi is simply “not ready” for professional play.

With Yuumi’s suspension from the League’s pro scene, fans are now calling for her complete removal from the game. Despite her limited damage output, Yuumi’s reliance on her attached ally, combined with her untargetability, can make her feel extremely oppressive when attached to a fed ADC or a powerful champion like Master Yi.

Some players have even suggested the implementation of separate rules to continually disable specific champions for pro play, taking inspiration from the 2023 MSI preparation. However, Riot has previously emphasized the importance of pros playing under the same rules as regular players, making the permanent removal of Yuumi unlikely.

While there were suggestions to remove Yuumi entirely, it is unlikely that Riot will delete any character from the game due to targeted hate. The April 17 thread discussing this issue did not elicit a response from Riot.
