League introduces Naafiri, a long-awaited Darkin assassin after six years

Riot Games Unveils League of Legends’ Newest Champion: Naafiri, the Hound of a Hundred Bites

Riot Games has finally released League of Legends’ highly anticipated champion, Naafiri, known as the Hound of a Hundred Bites. Naafiri is a unique Darkin champion who is not bound to a human, but instead to a pack of Duner Hounds from Shurima. Designed to be the easiest assassin for League players to master, Naafiri has captured the attention of fans everywhere.

“Our goal was to create a champion that fully embodies the essence of a creature, as Bel’Veth did not fulfill that desire for fans,” said Lexi Gao, the product lead for League’s champions, when introducing Naafiri.

A Champion Like No Other

Naafiri’s design and lore are as far from a human figure as possible. Entombed within a dagger’s blade and imprisoned beneath the Shuriman sands, Naafiri was later set free and bound herself to the Dune Hounds, a bond she initially rejected. However, Naafiri soon realized that the pack’s collective consciousness would be invaluable in reuniting her fellow Darkin.

Driven by savage canine instincts and the ancient magic of the Darkin, Naafiri fearlessly hunts down her opponents alongside her pack. She can easily summon her pack to launch a powerful attack as one unified entity. Unity is Naafiri’s greatest strength, while solitary hunts expose her biggest weakness.

Experience Naafiri in the Rift

Exciting news for League players—Naafiri will be available to play on the PBE (Public Beta Environment) in the first few weeks of July. Players will have the opportunity to bring Naafiri into their games and experience her unique gameplay firsthand. Prepare for an intense hunt!
