LCS Summer 2023 MVP awarded to emerging NA LoL prodigy in only their second season

LCS Summer Split MVP Award Goes to Young Star Jojopyun

Evil Geniuses’ rising star Jojopyun has been named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2023 LCS Summer Split, marking an impressive achievement for the 18-year-old mid laner. This makes him the youngest player to win the award since Bjergsen in 2014. [YouTube video URL]

Despite a challenging season for EG, filled with controversies both on and off-stage, Jojopyun has been a beacon of light for the team. Following a midseason roster overhaul, he stood as the sole survivor and proved himself as a player worth building around in just one split.

Jojopyun’s performance this summer has been outstanding, ranking among the top North American mid laners in key stats like CS per minute, damage percentage, DPM, and kill participation, according to Oracle’s Elixir. He was also selected for the All-Pro team for the second time in his career.

While EG may not be representing North America at Worlds this year, the team has a promising future. Jojopyun’s presence in the mid lane can serve as a catalyst for a roster reshuffle that could propel the team back into contention for a Worlds spot as early as next year.

Building a team around the mid lane has been a successful strategy for many top League teams. With Jojopyun’s MVP-caliber performance, EG may have found a solid foundation for recruiting new players in the upcoming free agency period in November.

Jojopyun is contracted with EG until the end of the 2024 season, while his teammates’ contracts will expire at the end of the current season.
