LCS Spring Split 2023 Power Rankings

LCS Power Rankings: Predicting the Top Teams for the 2023 Spring Split

After an eventful 2022 League of Legends World Championship and with some controversies surrounding the LCS, the stage is set for the upcoming 2023 Spring Split, starting on Jan. 26. However, this season brings major changes, including a shift in competition days to Thursdays and Fridays.

In this upcoming season, we will see the return of many familiar faces who dominated the competition in 2022. Rookies, international talent, and seasoned veterans are all gearing up to take the competition to new heights. But what’s surprising is the teams these talents have joined.

As we approach the start of the 2023 season, some teams that struggled in the past have completely revamped their rosters for the Spring Split. These teams are now aiming to become dominant forces in the LCS rankings.

Noteworthy Challengers: Golden Guardians, Immortals, TSM

Golden Guardians, Immortals, and TSM have taken a different approach to roster-building for the Spring Split as compared to other LCS teams. These three teams struggled in the past and are now looking to make a comeback. However, they might face challenges if they fail to surprise everyone.

Among these teams, Golden Guardians stand out as having the most potential for success due to their acquisition of LCS veteran Huhi and the debut of Gori, who brings years of experience from LCK, LPL, and PCS. But with tough competition and considering their previous performances, these teams will need time to grow and improve.

Promising Underdogs: CLG, Team Dignitas

CLG has long struggled to stay competitive in the LCS ecosystem. This season, they decided to build from within, focusing on nurturing their prospects. This approach paid off last summer when CLG made the playoffs for the first time in five seasons. With the same roster, CLG is determined to continue their growth and provide opportunities for underrated talents.

Team Dignitas, on the other hand, has picked recognizable veterans to lead their squad. With experienced players like Santorin and Jensen, who have won championships and know how to lead a team, Dignitas is a team to watch in the coming season. They also have newcomers like Armut and Spawn who will need time to adjust.

Champions and Legends: Team Liquid, 100 Thieves, Cloud9

Team Liquid and 100 Thieves have made some strong roster changes, adding star power to their teams. Team Liquid signed talented free agents, including former LCS MVP Summit and former DRX jungler Pyosik. 100 Thieves, on the other hand, reunited Bjergsen and Doublelift, which could be a comeback story for the ages. However, both teams still have some uncertainties to address with rookies adjusting to the LCS level and Doublelift’s return after a long break.

Cloud9, the previous split’s winner, has maintained a majority of their core team, ensuring continuity and experience. With established players guiding the team and a new mid laner being introduced, Cloud9 is expected to be a strong contender again.

The Future Is Here: FlyQuest, Evil Geniuses

FlyQuest and Evil Geniuses, tying for the top spot in our power rankings, have made significant changes to their rosters. Evil Geniuses replaced their renowned rookie ADC Danny with LCS veteran FBI and reunited him with Ssumday, with whom he had previous success at 100 Thieves. FlyQuest, on the other hand, revamped their LCS roster with a blend of sought-after LCS talent and international players looking to prove themselves in NA.

The competition in the LCS looks fresher and more competitive this season, with these teams and others closely following behind them in the rankings.

Although FlyQuest and Evil Geniuses stand out, the battle for the top of the LCS standings will be fierce and unpredictable throughout Spring.
