LCS Spring playoff quarter finals see top seeds fall short.

All Seeded Teams Upset in First Round of LCS Playoffs

The first round of the spring LCS playoffs has concluded, and it is clear that finishing high in the regular season does not guarantee playoff success. In both the European and North American playoffs, the highest seed in the quarterfinals – the team that finished in third in the regular season – lost to the lowest seed.

Fnatic Takes Victory Over Vitality in European Quarterfinals

In Europe, despite a disappointing regular split performance, Fnatic managed to defeat Vitality to advance to the next round. Previously undefeated, Fnatic only had a 9-9 split this season. However, they were able to dominate Vitality in a 3-1 victory, with Vitality unable to turn the series around even with a strong third game performance.

Team SoloMid Defeats Cloud9 in North American Quarterfinals

In North America, Team SoloMid, despite being the sixth seed, overcame Cloud9 in a 3-1 win. Their victory keeps their hopes alive for winning the Spring Championship and securing a spot in the Mid Season Invitational.

Team Liquid and Origen Secure Shutouts in Quarterfinals

In the other quarterfinal matches, Team Liquid secured a 3-0 win over NRG Esports in North America, while Origen defeated Unicorns of Love. Both teams will move on to the next round to face the top two seeds from each region.

TSM will be facing the unstoppable Immortals, while Liquid will go up against Counter Logic Gaming in North America. In Europe, Fnatic will be matched up against G2 Esports, and Origen will face H2k-Gaming.
