Riot Games Announces Throwback Showmatch Between Cloud9 and TSM
Riot Games has announced a throwback showmatch between Cloud9 and TSM.
Original Lineups Reunite
In this showmatch, Cloud9 will reunite its original LCS roster from 2013. The lineup includes Sneaky, Meteos, Hai Du Lam, Daerek “LemonNation” Hart, and An “Balls” Van Le. TSM will also bring back most of its 2013 roster, with the exception of TSM CEO Andy “Reginald” Dinh.
TSM Fielding Former Stars
Of the five-player roster that TSM had during the 2013 LCS Summer Split, Reginald will be the only one not competing in this showmatch. Former TSM stars Marcus “Dyrus” Hill, Brian “TheOddOne” Wyllie, Alex “Xpecial” Chu, and WildTurtle will join the Summoner’s Rift against C9.
Popular League streamer Voyboy will take Reginald’s spot in the mid lane for this showmatch. It is worth noting that Voyboy did not play for TSM at any point in his career, as his success came as a part of Team Curse, which merged with Team Liquid in 2015.
Celebrating LCS History
Riot announced this classic showmatch on July 6 to celebrate the clash between C9 and TSM in the 2020 LCS Summer Split. Both teams are among the top teams in the LCS standings, with C9 sitting at the top with a perfect 8-0 record and TSM tied for second with a 6-2 record.
Match Schedule
The throwback showmatch will take place on July 10 at 7pm CT, while the matchup between the current teams of the organizations will happen on July 11 at approximately 3pm CT.
