LCS Playoff Race: Complexity Brings the Heat

Complexity Defeats Curse Gaming in Super Week Opener

Complexity shocked fans today with a victory over Curse Gaming in the opening match of the Super Week. This win brings Complexity just one game behind Curse Gaming in the playoff race, making the competition for the sixth available spot even more intense. The two teams now have an even head-to-head record, meaning a tiebreaker may be necessary to determine their playoff fate.

Curse Gaming focused on using David “Cop” Roberson’s Kog’Maw as their key player in this critical match. Their lineup consisted of Lulu in the top lane, Orianna in the mid lane, Nunu in the jungle, and Morgana in the bottom lane. These champions provided valuable buffs and protections for Roberson. However, Complexity was well-prepared and managed to secure two early kills in the bottom lane, giving them an advantage that they turned into early towers.

In the jungle, Curse Gaming caught Complexity off guard and punished them. But when Curse tried to capitalize on that play by taking Baron, Complexity completely turned the tables with a remarkable reversal. Complexity’s top laner Jonathan “Westrice” Nguyen, playing as Maokai, held off Curse Gaming, allowing Complexity’s jungler Kevin “Kez” Jeon to join the fight with his homeguard boots.

Not willing to let Curse Gaming take Baron, Complexity fought back and took the objective for themselves. They used this advantage to gain more towers, map control, and ultimately secure the victory.

This win was crucial for Complexity’s chances of making it to the playoffs. The team gained a significant advantage over their closest rival and now has a legitimate shot at securing a playoff spot, a possibility that seemed unlikely at the start of the season. Mid laner Neil “PR0LLY” Hammad emphasized the importance of each match and expressed his determination to win.

Complexity coach Kublai “Kubz” Barlas used an interesting analogy to describe his coaching style before the match, highlighting the different motivational needs of players. Hammad stated that he prefers a more positive approach, but regardless of the coaching style, Complexity has shown steady improvement throughout the season.
