LCK teams collaborate with T1 to enhance Korea’s chances at another LoL Worlds victory

T1 Receives Support from LCK Teams for Worlds 2023 Semifinals

The remaining League of Legends teams from South Korea are coming together to support T1 as they compete in the 2023 World Championship. According to a report from Navar, teams are lining up to scrim against T1 and assist them in their training for the upcoming semifinals. Several LCK teams, including Kwangdong Freecs, are already scrimming against T1 to help them improve before their best-of-five series against the LPL’s JD Gaming on November 11. This collaboration aims to enhance T1’s chances of success in the tournament.

T1 is the sole representative from the LCK region in the Worlds 2023, as the rest of the semifinal spots were secured by LPL teams. They eliminated the first LPL team they faced in the tournament, raising hopes for an LCK victory. However, T1 faces a dilemma in their preparation for the semifinals. Scrimming against an LPL team could inadvertently benefit JDG, as LPL teams could provide valuable information to their fellow LPL opponents. The balance between preparing adequately and avoiding any potential advantages for their opponents is crucial for T1.

The rivalry between regions remains strong, despite the fierce competition at Worlds 2023. South Korea has won the Summoner’s Cup seven times, while China has claimed the title three times. Both regions are determined to outperform each other and alter the balance of championship wins. The support from LCK teams showcases the commitment of the South Korean esports community to maintain their status as the best region in the world.
