LCK Staff Address Faker’s Concerns Regarding Solo Queue in South Korea

Faker Complains About Solo Queue, Top Esports Substitute Fined

On March 10, T1 mid laner Faker had a frustrating experience in League of Legends solo queue. He encountered Top Esports substitute Qingtian, who ended the game with 16 deaths.

Faker expressed his complaints on his Twitch stream, calling out Qingtian’s bad mentality. TES quickly took action and fined Qingtian a month’s salary to resolve the situation.

The game’s frustration led Faker to criticize the state of solo queue in the region. He was not happy that Chinese players were given Riot super accounts and highlighted the long-standing issues with the ladder.

T1 staff and LCK officials responded to Faker’s concerns a few hours later, as reported by Korean news site kmib.

“We are aware of what happened in Lee Sang-hyeok’s solo rank at dawn. He has communicated his intentions to the LCK,” T1 said in a statement.

“Until now, we have only lent accounts to players who have signed the pledge. However, it is difficult to address this issue solely from the Korean office level, as players from other overseas regions, including China, are involved. Nevertheless, the LCK prioritizes the well-being of its pro gamers.”

Korean solo queue has been praised as one of the best practice environments. Many teams from around the world have boot camped in Korea before major tournaments. However, it appears that some issues have arisen. Based on the LCK’s response, players can expect changes in the near future.
