Larssen’s Role in Rogue for 2022: ‘I’ll Bear More Responsibility’

Rogue Begins LEC Spring Split with Impressive Wins

The 2022 LEC Spring Split has kicked off with a bang for Rogue, who secured three victories in their opening matches. Currently, they are tied for first place alongside Fnatic in the standings.

Larssen, Rogue Mid Laner, Talks Challenges and New Team Members

Following their win against Misfits on January 15th, Larssen, the mid laner for Rogue, sat down with journalist Tom Matthiesen. In the interview, Larssen shared his thoughts on the challenges he anticipates this year and the addition of new team members, Malrang and Comp.

These changes are a result of Inspired and Hans sama leaving Rogue during the off-season. Inspired joined Evil Geniuses, while Hans sama became a Team Liquid player.

Adjusting to a New Role

Being a Rogue mid laner in 2022 is a different experience for Larssen compared to the previous year. He stated, “It’s a different challenge for me, so different from [playing with] Inspired and Hans. They were very resource-demanding players. I had to adjust to them and try to have them carry because you can’t have five people who carry. I can be a lot more vocal and demanding this year, and I will have a lot more on my shoulders.”

Larssen acknowledges the loss of Inspired and Hans sama but also expresses confidence in their replacements, Malrang and Comp, whom he describes as “very good players.”

The Decision to Sign New Players

Discussing the signings of Malrang and Comp, Larssen explains that Blumigan, the team’s former assistant coach and now head coach of AGO Rogue, had previous experience working with Malrang and recommended him to the team. Larssen expresses his gratitude for Blumigan’s suggestion and his satisfaction with Malrang’s inclusion in the roster.

Finding a new marksman for the team proved to be a more challenging task. Larssen reveals that after watching numerous VODs, Comp stood out to him. He believed Comp had great potential and could become an exceptional player in the right environment. Larssen is confident that Rogue can provide that environment for Comp’s growth.

Upcoming Matches

Rogue will continue their journey in the LEC on Friday, January 21st, when they face off against MAD Lions, the reigning champions of the region. They will then compete against Team BDS the following day.
