Larssen Resigns with Current LEC Team after Weeks of Uncertainty

Larssen chooses to stay with Infinity Reality in LEC

Popular LEC free agent Emil ‘Larssen’ Larsson has reportedly decided to remain on the same League of Legends team, Infinity Reality, ending weeks of speculation about his departure.

As the League 2023 World Championship nears its end with only four teams remaining, other teams are making bold changes in preparation for the 2024 season. This has led to a game of ‘musical chairs’ across the leagues.

Larssen renews contract with Infinity Reality

One important player in the EMEA region, Larssen, was the subject of numerous rumors about potential moves. Many teams showed interest in recruiting him. However, Larssen has put an end to the speculation by re-signing with Infinity Reality (formerly known as KOI), as reported by Sheep Esports.

2023 was not a successful year for KOI’s League team. They started strong by finishing third in the LEC Winter playoffs, but their performance declined rapidly afterward.

The team ended up in eighth place in the LEC Summer Groups and Summer Season, sixth in Spring Groups, and seventh in the Spring and Winter Seasons. As a result, they had to watch G2, Fnatic, MAD Lions, and Team BDS represent the region at Worlds.

Uncertainty surrounds the team

While Larssen has decided to stay, it remains unclear which other players will remain on the team and who will leave after KOI and Infinite Reality ended their partnership on November 3.

In addition to Larssen, two other ex-KOI players, Geun-seon ‘Malrang’ Kim (jungler) and Hendrik ‘Advienne’ Reijenga (support), have contracts expiring on November 20. It is yet to be confirmed whether they will stay with the team or explore other opportunities.

Future decisions for Infinity Reality

Although Larssen will be with Infinity Reality in 2024, the team still has many decisions to make, including finalizing the starting roster and their branding for the upcoming season.

Ibai, a popular streamer, is keeping the rights to the KOI branding, so it is likely that Infinity Reality will revert to their original name, Rogue.
