Larssen from Rogue Expresses Strong Belief in Winning the Split

Rogue Secures Spot at 2020 League of Legends World Championship

The path to success in professional League of Legends is a challenging one, especially in Europe where teams work tirelessly to represent their region at the World Championship. This year, Rogue emerged as the top team in the 2020 LEC Summer Split, securing their spot at Worlds with an impressive 13-5 record. Led by great teamwork and breakout performances from their young players, Rogue proved their worth.

Interview with Larssen, Rogue’s Mid Laner

Larssen, Rogue’s 20-year-old mid laner, recently spoke with about his growth as a professional player, the challenges of earning respect in a competitive league like the LEC, and his aspirations for the playoffs and beyond.

According to Larssen, winning the No. 1 spot in Europe felt incredible, especially after a season filled with fierce competition. He expressed his happiness and relief at finally reaching playoffs after a year of hard work and focus. Larssen credited the addition of star AD carry Hans Sama for boosting his confidence and teaching him valuable gameplay strategies.

Rogue’s success can be attributed to their dominance in the early game. They consistently had the highest gold difference at 15 minutes, the highest first-to-three-towers rate, and excelled in objective control. Larssen himself had the highest KDA among all LEC mid laners and impressive early-game stats.

Larssen praised the team’s young jungler, Inspired, for his calm and skilled gameplay. Despite their achievements, Larssen acknowledges that there is room for improvement, particularly in optimizing their objective control. Rogue remains focused on working together as a team and becoming even better.

Earning Respect in the League

Rogue’s journey to success was not without its ups and downs. While other teams received more hype and recognition, Larssen understands that respect must be earned. He remains unfazed by others’ opinions and believes that winning playoffs will prove their worth to skeptics.

Larssen recognizes the established reputations of teams like G2 and Fnatic, as well as the potential of MAD Lions. Despite past disappointments in playoffs, he is confident that now is the time for Rogue to prove themselves and win the split.

Dreaming of Worlds

After the Summer playoffs, Larssen and Rogue will finally have the opportunity to compete at Worlds 2020. With excitement, Larssen looks forward to facing off against talented opponents like T1’s Faker and TOP Esports’ knight. However, he is most excited about experiencing the tournament with his teammates.

Larssen predicts that the top European representatives at Worlds will likely include Rogue, G2 Esports, MAD Lions, and potentially Fnatic or Schalke. Despite concerns about Fnatic’s recent performance, Larssen believes they are still a formidable team. He acknowledges Schalke’s strong gameplay and sees them as a potential wildcard in reaching Worlds.

Stay tuned to watch Rogue in action as they face off against Fnatic in the first round of the 2020 LEC Summer playoffs on Sunday, Aug. 23.
