Kwangdong Freecs part ways with their bot laner Leo

South Korean Bot Laner Leo Leaves Kwangdong Freecs

Leo, the 22-year-old South Korean bot laner, has officially left Kwangdong Freecs, the team announced on Twitter.

Leo’s Journey with Afreeca Freecs

In April 2021, Leo joined Afreeca Freecs and became their starting ADC. Throughout the 2021 LCK Summer Split, Leo and his support Lehends formed a formidable bot lane duo, achieving a sixth-place finish both in the regular season and playoffs.

Transition to Kwangdong Freecs

Unfortunately, Afreeca Freecs, which was renamed Kwangdong Freecs in the off-season, acquired former T1 ADC player Teddy for the 2022 season. This decision pushed Leo to the substitute ADC role, and he never had the opportunity to play an official match throughout the year.

Contract Conclusion

“We officially announce the end of Han ‘Leo’ Gyeo-re’s contract,” Kwangdong Freecs stated. “We appreciate Leo’s hard work for the team, and we will continue to support him in his future endeavors.”

Leo’s Professional Journey

Prior to joining Kwangdong Freecs, Leo started his professional career as a sub for SK Telecom T1, where he had the chance to play on stage during the 2018 LCK Summer Split. He then joined SANDBOX Gaming in late 2019 and served as their starting ADC for over a year before making the move to Afreeca Freecs.
