Kwangdong Freecs Parts Ways with Kiin and Releases Entire 2022 Roster

Kwangdong Freecs, a prominent League of Legends team, has announced the departure of their top laner Kim “Kiin” Ki-In. Following this development, the organization has released the entire 2022 roster, making Jungler Choi “Ellim” El-lim, Yoo “FATE” Su-hyeok, bot lane Park “Teddy” Jin-seong, and support “Hoit” Ryu Ho-seong free agents.

The Freecs’ Performance

The Freecs had a decent season, finishing fourth in the LCK Spring. However, they were unable to qualify for playoffs in the summer.

Kiin’s Departure

Kiin, who had been with the organization for five years, decided to part ways. He played a crucial role in the team’s success, leading them to the World Championships in 2018 and achieving multiple LCK playoff finishes.

New Signings and Future Plans

Kwangdong Freecs expressed their appreciation to Kiin through a tweet and confirmed the signing of two new players for the 2023 season. The team is yet to reveal the destinations of Kiin and the other released players.

On a positive note, the Freecs signed multi-year contracts with Kim “Taeyoon” Tae-yoon and Ko “YoungJae” Yeong-Jae. Taeyoon previously served as a substitute ADC for DRX, while YoungJae was a substitute jungler for Gen.G.
