Kuro and Ray guide KT Rolster to their initial victory in LCK week 3

KT Rolster Secures First LCK Win of the Season Against Afreeca Freecs

KT Rolster achieved their first victory in the 2020 League of Legends season by defeating Afreeca Freecs in their recent LCK match. Jeon “Ray” Ji-won and Lee “Kuro” Seo-Haeng showcased excellent performances, leading KT Rolster to a 2-1 win.

A Hard-Fought Battle

While KT Rolster struggled at the bottom of the standings, Afreeca Freecs had a strong position at one point and aimed to maintain it. Despite the odds, KT Rolster persevered and secured their first win of the LCK Spring Split.

Impressive Displays of Skill

Ray displayed remarkable skill in the first game as Mordekaiser, dominating his opponent and gaining an advantage for his team. Kuro replicated Ray’s success in the third game as Nautilus, picking off out-of-position AFS members and securing objectives.

Turning the Tables

AFS attempted a comeback in the third game to solidify their position near the top of the standings. However, Ray’s well-executed initiation near the Baron sealed their fate and handed them a defeat.

From Glory to Struggles

KT had a tough couple of years. After losing key players following a disappointing showing at Worlds 2018, they attempted to rebuild the team around top laner Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho, but couldn’t reach the same level of success.

Once a fierce rival of T1 during the Telekom Wars, KT has now become a mere shadow of its former self. While the current roster is doing their best to secure wins, other teams outshine them in terms of mechanical skill.

Unexpected Victory, But Still Fighting

Although their win today was unexpected, it didn’t improve KT’s standings in the LCK Spring Split. They remain in 10th place with -7 points, and their current performance puts them at risk of relegation.

Next, KT Rolster will face off against Sandbox Gaming on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
