KT Rolster support Mata fined for account sharing

Korean League of Legends Player Fined for Using Another Player’s Account

Professional League of Legends player Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong from Korea has been fined by developer Riot Games for using another player’s account. Mata has been fined a total of 500,000 won ($460) and will also have to complete 25 hours of community service. However, he has not received a competitive ban. Riot Games determined that Mata did not use the account for financial gain or to boost the account.

The incident occurred on January 26, where Mata was found to be using an account registered under someone else’s name. At that time, he was given a 30-day ban from the game. Riot Games then assessed the situation from an esports perspective and delivered the appropriate punishment.

Mata admitted to using the account for some time before being caught. The account was initially created by using his mother’s personal information, and Mata continued to use it. He took full responsibility for his actions and pledged to comply with Riot’s penalties. Mata also apologized to his fans for the incident.

Mata’s Standing in the LCK

Mata is currently a member of the KT Rolster team, which is currently tied for first place in the LCK alongside KING-ZONE Dragon X and KSV Esports, with a score of 5-1.
