KT Rolster secures LoL Worlds playoff spot, stunningly denying DK’s reverse-sweep

KT Rolster secures spot in League of Legends Worlds Knockout stage with victory over Dplus KIA

KT Rolster has advanced to the Knockout stage of the League of Legends Worlds tournament after defeating Dplus KIA in a 2-0 victory. Despite Dplus KIA’s attempt at a reverse sweep, KT Rolster emerged victorious in a closely contested match.

Many had anticipated Dplus KIA’s success, given their strong performance in the Swiss stage and the impressive track record of their player Deft in qualifying for the quarterfinals. Additionally, star players Showmaker and Canyon were celebrating their 100th international match. However, KT Rolster proved to be a formidable opponent, having faced tough competition from LPL and LCK teams throughout the Swiss stage.

Dplus KIA initially gained a significant advantage with a 7-0 lead in the early stages of the first match. However, KT Rolster managed to keep up and turned the tide during a crucial team fight at the 25-minute mark. Despite Dplus KIA securing the Baron, KT Rolster executed a flawless team fight, eliminating all five opposing players. Bdd’s well-timed Azir ultimate played a crucial role in this turnaround, leading to KT Rolster’s victory in the first match.

In the second match, KT Rolster capitalized on their strong laning phase, particularly with the Zeri pick. This allowed them to establish a solid foundation and secure a 2-0 win. Despite Dplus KIA’s efforts, including Deft’s impressive performance on Aphelios, they couldn’t match the scaling of KT Rolster. The match and series concluded in 45 minutes.

With their strong performance throughout the Swiss stage, having faced only LPL and LCK teams, KT Rolster is well-prepared for the Knockout stage. On the other hand, Dplus KIA will have to watch the rest of the Worlds tournament from the sidelines.

Upcoming match: Fnatic versus Weibo Gaming
