KT Rolster Defeats Undefeated DragonX in Intense LCK Summer Split Series
KT Rolster pulled off a surprising upset against the previously undefeated DragonX in an intense three-game series during the 2020 LCK Summer Split.
Player of the Game Awards for SoHwan and Ucal
SoHwan, the top laner, and Ucal, the mid laner, both received Player of the Game awards for their outstanding performances on Kennen and Twisted Fate, respectively. Notably, legendary top laner Smeb filled in as support for KT, substituting for Tusin.
Game 1: SoHwan’s Dominance
In the first game, SoHwan’s performance on Kennen proved crucial from the laning phase until the end of the game. He secured a lead in the top lane and prevented DRX’s Doran from snowballing with his Camille pick. Despite both teams trading objectives and neither claiming the Dragon Soul, KT’s superior teamfight composition allowed them to gain an advantage. Chovy’s attempts to stop KT were in vain as their solid gameplay led to a decisive victory.
Game 2: DRX Strikes Back
DRX displayed a much-improved performance in the second game. Although they left Varus open, a highly contested pick this split, they built a composition that countered him effectively. With superior objective control, DRX gained a substantial lead. However, Chovy’s questionable plays almost cost them the game. Fortunately, his teammates remained composed and secured the win in the next teamfight.
Game 3: KT’s Decisive Victory
The third game turned into an absolute bloodbath as KT dominated the match. Focusing on the top side, they dismantled Doran’s Volibear, rendering him ineffective in splitpushing, engaging, and resisting damage during teamfights. After securing an ace near the mid lane, KT finished the game with a 19-4 kill advantage, putting an end to DRX’s undefeated streak.
