Korea’s top League of Legends team suffers their first series defeat this season

South Korea’s Top League of Legends Team Suffers First Loss of the Season

After going undefeated for eight-and-a-half weeks, South Korea’s best League of Legends team, ROX Tigers, has finally lost their first series of the 2016 season.

Samsung Galaxy Defeats ROX Tigers in LCK

In a surprising upset, fellow top tier Korean squad, Samsung Galaxy, defeated the 2015 World Championship runner-up, ROX Tigers, with a score of 1-2 in the League Champions Korea (LCK) this morning. This is the second time the two teams have faced off this season, with the Tigers winning by a significant margin eight weeks ago.

Revitalized Players Lead to Samsung Galaxy’s Victory

Samsung Galaxy managed to secure the win, thanks in part to their revitalized jungler, Kang “Ambition” Chan-yong, who showcased exceptional performances on Graves and Kindred. Rookie mid laner, Lee “Crown” Min-ho, also played remarkably well on Lulu and Cassiopea.

Tigers Still Leading the League

Despite suffering a loss, the ROX Tigers continue to hold first place in the league with a record of 11-1. Jin Air Green Wings, KT Rolster, CJ Entus, and Samsung Galaxy follow closely behind. Surprisingly, SK Telecom T1, the 2013 and 2015 World Champion, is currently in sixth place despite winning the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship Katowice tournament last weekend.
