Kold, Former Origen jungler, brings strategic coaching expertise to Team Liquid

Team Liquid Signs Former Origen Jungler Kold as Strategic Coach for 2021 LoL Season

Team Liquid has announced the signing of former Origen jungler Jonas “Kold” Andersen as a strategic coach for the upcoming 2021 League of Legends season. Kold, 25, shared the news today. He was a key part of Origen’s success in 2019. However, due to health issues, he took a break from competing during the regional gauntlet. After more than a year of silence, Kold provided an update on his situation in August.

Kold’s Return and Coaching Opportunity

During his time away from professional League of Legends, Kold realized the stress of being a pro player was overwhelming. As a result, he decided to retire from competing and pursue coaching opportunities. While Kold had an impressive career as a jungler, his coaching abilities remain untested. However, following Liquid’s announcement of parting ways with strategic coach Cain, it seems the organization is eager to explore Kold’s potential as a coach.

Revamped Coaching Staff for Team Liquid

Under Cain’s leadership, Team Liquid achieved multiple LCS titles and made a mark on the international stage. However, after a disappointing 2020 Spring Split, Cain was transitioned from head coach to another role, and Liquid brought in former caster turned coach Jatt. With this revamped coaching staff, Liquid secured a spot in this year’s World Championship but unfortunately got eliminated during the group stage.
