KINGZONE DragonX, the Champions of LCK, Seek Players for All Roles

KINGZONE DragonX Openly Recruiting Players for All Roles

KINGZONE DragonX, the reigning champions of the 2018 LCK Spring Split and runners-up at MSI, announced on Twitter today that they are actively recruiting players for all five roles.

KINGZONE, formerly known as Longzhu Gaming, has established themselves as a dominant force in the esports scene. They won the 2017 Summer Split and reached the quarterfinals at Worlds in the same year. Therefore, their decision to openly recruit players for all roles is highly significant for the region.

While it is possible that some of these new players will become starters, it is more likely that they will serve as substitutes. In the past, as Longzhu Gaming, the team had a substitute player for every role except one. Substitutes Jang “Zzus” Joon-soo, Yoon “Justice” Seok-joon, and Lee “Hybrid” Woo-jin all left the team when it was rebranded as KINGZONE.

There is one role in particular whose future is uncertain. If KINGZONE did indeed recruit a new player for every role, they would have a total of three junglers. Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan and Han “Peanut” Wang-ho currently share the jungle role, and adding a new player may create difficulties in managing the roster. However, considering the stellar performances by Peanut and Cuzz in the past year, it would not be wise for the team to replace them.

KINGZONE DragonX currently has a 6-2 record, tying them for first place in the LCK. Their next game is scheduled against MVP this Thursday at 6am CT.
