Kingzone DragonX swiftly defeat DAMWON Gaming in the LCK playoff quarterfinals

Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu and Kingzone DragonX Move On in LCK Playoffs

Kingzone DragonX, led by their AD carry Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu, have advanced to the next round of the LCK playoffs. Despite a valiant effort from DAMWON Gaming, Kingzone DragonX proved to be too strong, shutting them out in a three-game blowout in the 2019 LCK Spring Split playoff quarterfinals. DAMWON Gaming played aggressively, but Kingzone DragonX was prepared for their strategy and countered their engages effectively.

In the post-game interview, Deft expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating that except for one solo death in game one, he was overall pleased with their play. Deft and his support, Park “TusiN” Jong-ik, set the pace of the match with a solo kill onto DAMWON’s bot lane. Kingzone DragonX showcased their drafting skills by selecting creative picks like Morgana and Pyke as their bot lane duo in game two.

Reflecting on his Pyke pick, TusiN mentioned that Deft suggested it as a viable option and that they still have more champion picks up their sleeve. TusiN executed numerous champions with his Death From Below ultimate and even stole an Elemental Drake. Kingzone’s mid laner, Heo “PawN” Won-seok, demonstrated his champion pool depth by playing three different picks, including his favorite champion, LeBlanc.

With their dominant performance against DAMWON Gaming, Kingzone DragonX will now face SK Telecom T1 in the playoff semifinals. This match carries extra significance as Kim “Khan” Dong-ha, SK Telecom T1’s top laner, was formerly a member of Kingzone DragonX. Kingzone top laner Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee, who was Khan’s understudy, expressed his excitement for the match and his confidence in taking down his former teammate and SK Telecom T1.

The upcoming match between Kingzone DragonX and SK Telecom T1 will take place on April 7.
