Kikis’ Debut with Vitality Delivers an Intensely Thrilling Match

Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek Returns to EU LCS with a Win for Team Vitality

Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek made a triumphant return to the EU LCS today, playing for Team Vitality after a year-long break. Despite a close game against Giants Gaming, Kikis helped break Vitality’s losing streak and was awarded Player of the Game.

Kikis’ last appearance in the LCS was in the Summer Split of 2017 as a member of Mysterious Monkeys. Unfortunately, his poor performance contributed to the team’s relegation. Many fans were worried that he would continue to struggle upon his return to the EU LCS today.

However, Kikis proved them wrong by carrying Team Vitality to victory.

His performance today resembled his play during the European Masters tournament this Spring, where he competed for Illuminar Gaming. Although he initially struggled, Kikis eventually showcased his skills and put on an impressive show.

When Vitality announced their addition of the former G2 Esports and Fnatic superstar as their new jungler, the future of their current starting jungler, Erberk “Gilius” Demir, became uncertain. After today’s game, it seems that Gilius should be even more concerned.

One of Vitality’s weaknesses is their inability to secure a win after falling behind. However, in today’s game, they were able to overcome a significant gold deficit with the help of Kikis. This is a promising sign for Vitality, and if they choose to start Gilius in tomorrow’s game against ROCCAT, he will need to prove himself.

Their match against ROCCAT begins tomorrow at 10am CT.
