Khan’s Desire to Join SKT Predated Knowledge of His Teammates

SK Telecom T1’s Acquisition of Top Laner Khan: A High-Profile Roster Move

SK Telecom T1, the three-time League of Legends world champions, made headlines in the pre-2019 offseason with their acquisition of top laner Kim “Khan” Dang-ha. Despite the impressive lineup including Kang “Haru” Min-seung, Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong, and the iconic Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, Khan accepted the offer without even knowing who his teammates would be.

In an interview posted by SKT, Khan revealed that he joined the team because of their reputation for excellence, not because of the star-studded roster. While he may have expected to play alongside Faker, who has been with the team since 2013, Khan had no knowledge of the other players.

High Praise for SKT’s Standards

Despite the uncertainty, Khan expressed his admiration for SKT’s high standards. As a player who has won two LCK splits consecutively and is known as one of the best players in the world, Khan’s praise holds weight. His aggressive and carry-centric playstyle has earned him one of the highest K/DA ratings in Korea since 2017.

The Potential of a “Dream Team”

Khan, along with Faker, Mata, and Haru, has been dubbed the “super team” of SKT’s 2019 lineup. However, Khan acknowledges that they will have to work hard to live up to the expectations that come with such a title. In the interview, he compared the roster to a lucid dream, a dream that one can fully control. Khan believes that this team has the potential to reach that level of excellence and become a true “dream team.”

The LCK Spring Split is set to begin in January.
