Keria Makes History in LCK as First Support to Win MVP in Korean League

T1 Support Keria Becomes First Ever Support to Win LCK MVP

The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) has announced its MVP for the 2022 Spring Split, and it’s none other than T1 support player Keria. This victory makes Keria the first-ever support player to win the MVP award in the South Korean competition.

Keria’s Historic Achievement

During his third split with T1, Keria played a crucial role in leading the team to a perfect split, becoming the first team in LCK history to achieve an undefeated split. The outstanding performance of Keria and his teammates did not go unnoticed, as four out of T1’s five starters received All-LCK honors by being named in the first All-LCK team.

Breaking Records

Keria’s exceptional gameplay also saw him break the all-time LCK record for most assists in a single split. This record had stood for nearly seven seasons and was previously held by former SK Telecom support Wolf. Keria surpassed Wolf’s record of 445 assists with an impressive total of 462 assists. Furthermore, Keria and the T1 squad this season broke the previous record for the most match victories by a team in a split, held by the 2015 SKT team, who had won 17 games in a single LCK season.

Historical MVP Win

It’s worth noting that LCK MVP awards have historically been dominated by junglers and mid laners, with no support player ever receiving the honor. The last time a support player across all four major League regions won an MVP award for a split was in 2020 when CoreJJ was crowned LCS MVP with Team Liquid. Keria’s achievement as the first-ever LCK support MVP is truly groundbreaking, and it highlights his exceptional gameplay and contribution to the team’s success. No AD carry has ever received the league’s highest honor.

Keria and the T1 squad will be back on the LCK stage for their second-round playoff match on March 26. The LCK Spring Split playoffs are set to commence on March 23.
