Katarina and Jarvan IV set to receive nerfs once more in Patch 8.3

Katarina and Jarvan IV Face Upcoming Nerfs in League of Legends

Since the preseason began, Katarina and Jarvan IV have faced a lot of criticism due to their overpowered nature. However, Riot Games has heard the concerns of frustrated solo-queue players and has announced that nerfs are on the way.

Nerfs for Katarina and Jarvan IV were attempted in Patches 7.24 and 7.24b respectively, but they were not sufficient. Riot Games has not provided specific details about the upcoming nerfs, but it is anticipated that they will be quite significant and unlikely to require further adjustments in future patches.

Right now, Katarina is particularly popular among mid laners as she is a strong counter to control mages, especially Zoe. Her rise in popularity has drawn attention to her power level and consistent nerfs have followed.

On the other hand, Jarvan IV has been a strong pick even before the introduction of the new runes. He was a top priority choice for picks and bans at Worlds and remained one of the game’s strongest junglers at the start of the season. Although the nerfs to his Q and passive in Patch 7.24 were significant, he continued to perform well, which suggests that the upcoming nerfs will have an even greater impact.

The nerfs for both Katarina and Jarvan IV are expected to be implemented in Patch 8.3, although there is a possibility of a delay until Patch 8.4 depending on the results of testing on the PBE.
