Karmine Corp’s Ex-Coach Reveals Early Dismissal of Rekkles from League Roster over Behavior Concerns

Former Karmine Corp Coach Sparks Controversy Over Rekkles’ Departure

In a recent Q&A live session on Twitch, Yanis “Striker” Kella, former head coach of Karmine Corp, mentioned behavior issues and divergence of opinions as reasons for parting ways with Martin “Rekkles” Larsson during the 2023 League of Legends offseason. Rekkles left Karmine Corp after a disappointing 2022 season to rejoin Fnatic before moving on to LEC’s Team BDS.

The Long-Term Decision That Was Cut Short

When Rekkles signed with Karmine Corp, it was meant to be a “long-term” commitment. However, according to Striker, the coaching staff decided not to continue with Rekkles for the 2023 season due to differences in opinions.

Repeated Behavioral Issues

Striker also mentioned that there were repeated behavioral issues with Rekkles, which the coaching staff tried to address but couldn’t fully fix. He alluded to instances where Rekkles would disrespect the team by refusing to play scrims or attend team-building events.

Stagnation in Summer Split

Striker attributed the team’s stagnation in the Summer Split to negative behavior, lack of motivation, and divergence of opinions in terms of strategy. He mentioned that picking Yuumi in the bot lane was a point of contention among the team members.

Despite these challenges, Striker tried to combat negativity to improve performance. Rekkles and Karmine Corp have yet to comment on the matter. Rumors suggest that only top laner Cabochard and mid laner Saken will remain on the team for the upcoming LFL season.

Meanwhile, Striker will serve as an assistant coach for Team BDS in the 2023 LEC Winter Season.
