Kai’Sa and Ivern face nerfs in League of Legends Patch 13.15

Riot Games Unveils Nerfs for Overpowered Champions in League of Legends Patch 13.15

Riot Games is taking action to balance the game in League of Legends Patch 13.15 by addressing the strength of certain meta picks. Champions like Kai’Sa, Ivern, Maokai, Aatrox, Sejuani, and Shyvana will be getting nerfs, according to the details revealed today.

Matt “RiotPhroxzon” Leung-Harrison, a Riot Games employee, believes that these nerfs will help reduce the dominance of these characters. He shared this insight in a Twitter message.

However, there have been some changes since yesterday’s update announcement. Naafiri, the newest champion in the Rift, will no longer be receiving nerfs in this patch. This decision might not be surprising considering Naafiri’s low win rate of 43.64%, as reported by stat-tracking site U.GG.

Nerfs Planned for Patch 13.15

  • Aatrox: Q damage will be nerfed.
  • Ivern: He will be moved off the Night Harvester build and onto the Enchanter build.
  • Kai’Sa: Her health, Q damage, and W cooldown will be nerfed.
  • Maokai: Q monster damage will be nerfed.
  • Sejuani: W damage will be nerfed.
  • Shyvana: Her attack damage and health will be nerfed.

Kai’Sa has been incredibly strong in the bot lane recently, so it is not surprising that her base stats will be reduced slightly. This adjustment aims to maintain her strength in the AD build without making her overpowered.

The Ivern nerfs are also intriguing. By nerfing the Rift Maker build, which has a high win rate in the jungle, the developers hope to shift Ivern into a more supportive role as an Enchanter. Only time and proper testing post-13.15’s release will reveal if this change achieves the desired shift.

It’s important to note that these nerfs are still tentative until the patch goes live. The next update for League of Legends is scheduled for August 2, following Riot’s annual patch schedule.
