Jiizuke Shares Unexpected Departure from Vitality: Staying Out of Loyalty

Former LEC Mid Laner Jiizuke Joins Evil Geniuses for LCS Season 2020

Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro, the 23-year-old former mid laner for Team Vitality, has announced his move to the LCS to play with Evil Geniuses in the upcoming League of Legends season. Jiizuke had originally planned to stay with Team Vitality throughout his entire professional career, but his contract was not renewed.

During a recent streaming session, Jiizuke shared his surprise at not being offered a new contract by Team Vitality and expressed his desire to have started and finished his career with one team.

However, the player also revealed that he had the opportunity to leave the team in 2018, as his impressive rookie performances had garnered interest from other organizations. Despite this, Jiizuke chose to remain loyal to Team Vitality and led them to Worlds last year, where he even earned the title of all-star.

Jiizuke cited synergy issues as the main reason for Team Vitality’s struggles in the past year. His own performance had also declined since his rookie debut, with a high number of deaths in the summer split and a low KDA compared to other mid laners in the league. Team Vitality barely made it to the playoffs in consecutive seasons and were eliminated in the first round both times.

Now, Jiizuke has joined Evil Geniuses in the LCS for the first time, forming a formidable lineup with MVP-caliber jungler Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen and former world champion Bae “Bang” Jun-sik. This new roster has great potential and is expected to be one of the top teams in the league.

As the 2020 Spring Split approaches, Jiizuke aims to bounce back from his disappointing 2019 performance and return to his previous form.
