Jankos shares his thoughts on Worlds 2019 and predicts G2’s stronger comeback in the future

G2 Esports had a tough ending to their impressive run at Worlds 2019, but jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski expressed his satisfaction with how the year went for him and his League of Legends team.

Jankos acknowledged that even though they didn’t achieve the ending they desired, G2 had a successful year. He also believed that the first and last games of the Worlds finals against FunPlus Phoenix were closely contested, despite their disappointing 3-0 loss.

In a YouTube video, Jankos explained that G2 lost to FPX because they needed to fundamentally change their playing style. He mentioned that due to their inclination towards a greedy style of play, they would have needed one to two weeks to address these issues.

Jankos admitted that FPX performed exceptionally well both individually and as a team, especially with jungler Gao “Tian” Tian-Liang, mid laner Kim “Doinb” Tae-sang, and support Liu “Crisp” Qing-Song. Their ability to create plays across the map and apply pressure at every step of the game was a significant factor in FPX’s victory.

Although he still feels disappointed with the outcome, Jankos anticipates that in 10 years, he will likely be content with how things turned out in 2019. He also shared his plans for the remainder of the year, including a 10-day vacation in Japan, followed by one week in Vietnam. In early December, he will begin streaming and create more content on YouTube.
