Riot Games Announces New LCS Commissioner for 2022 Season

Riot Games has announced that Jackie Felling, former director of product for the Call of Duty League at Activision Blizzard, will be joining the LCS as the league’s commissioner for the 2022 season. Felling will also take on the role of “Head of North American League of Legends.”

Felling expressed her excitement about the new role, stating, “When considering my next move, I knew I wanted to be somewhere where I could make a real impact, and where my passion for community and players could be fueled. Throughout the last 16 years of my game development and esports career, I have admired Riot for their dedication to players and esports” (source).

Felling brings a wealth of experience in esports, having led projects for games like Gears of War, Overwatch, and Call of Duty. Her goals for the North American League include executing the current product strategy, building a vision for the future of LCS, and supporting the development of players. She also aims to enhance the broadcast production quality while promoting diversity and innovation within the league (source).

Former LCS commissioner Chris Greeley has transitioned to a new position at Riot, overseeing North American and Oceanic esports on a broader scale as Riot expands its reach in the esports industry. Greeley and Felling will work together to ensure a smooth transition in the role of commissioner during the Spring Split (source).
