J Team Ties FunPlus Phoenix for First Place in Group B
J Team has surprised many fans in Europe with a strong performance against Splyce, resulting in a tie for first place in group B during the halfway point of the 2019 World Championship group stage. Previously seen as underdogs alongside FunPlus Phoenix and Splyce, J Team’s victories against both teams have raised eyebrows and opened up the possibility of an unexpected upset in the group.
Impressive Performance Against Splyce
J Team dominated the game against Splyce from start to finish. Mid laner Chu “FoFo” Chun-Lan showcased his skill on LeBlanc, securing six kills without any deaths. AD carry Chen “Lilv” Chin-Han also played a strong game, finishing with five kills. Additionally, J Team displayed excellent objective control by securing every dragon in the game.
Splyce Struggles
On the other hand, Splyce faced numerous challenges throughout the 45-minute match. For instance, Tore “Norskeren” Eilertsen was repeatedly picked off during the early-to-mid game, giving J Team a significant advantage that ultimately led to their victory.
European Representatives’ Woes
Unfortunately, Europe’s representatives at Worlds 2019 are not performing well. Splyce currently holds a 1-2 record, and Fnatic is in the same position in their respective group. Only G2 Esports has shown relative strength, but even they face a tough group. The number one LEC seed, G2 Esports, will be going up against Hong Kong Attitude in their upcoming match.
