Ivern update postponed as League of Legends developers search for improvements

Ivern Update Delayed as Riot Games Tests Changes

Riot Games has announced a delay in the release of the Ivern update for League of Legends. The update, which was initially scheduled for the next patch, will now be released in Patch 13.10. The development team is taking extra time to test more changes for the Green Father champion.

Riot developer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison informed players about the delay on May 9. He mentioned that the changes to jungler buff sharing, closely tied to Ivern, will also be delayed by two weeks. Both the Ivern update and the jungler buff changes are expected to go live on May 31.

League of Legends Patch 13.11, which follows the delayed Ivern update, has not revealed much information about its contents. However, Patch 13.10, the midseason overhaul, will introduce four new items, make adjustments to existing items, and bring changes to various aspects of the game such as Neeko, minions, turrets, blast cones, warding trinkets, Homeguards mechanic, Teleport, and the homebase fountain in the Rift.

While the planned changes may affect the Ivern midscope update, it is confirmed that Ivern’s base stats, Q, W, E, and ultimate abilities will undergo adjustments. Additionally, Ivern’s passive will no longer grant Crest of Cinders or Crest of Insight after defeating jungle creatures.

One of the significant changes in this update is for Ivern’s ultimate ability, Daisy. Daisy will receive an improved AI when not controlled by the player. She will also have more knock-ups and can land directly on any enemy champions rooted by Ivern’s Q ability.

The mini-rework of Ivern is expected to be well-received by dedicated players who have witnessed his decline since his release in 2016. Currently, Ivern has a very low win rate in ranked lobbies and does not appear on some stat-tracking websites. He ranks 50th out of 58 recorded junglers in terms of popularity.

The updated Ivern is scheduled to be released on May 31.
