Kayn in League of Legends Reaches 1,000 Days without a New Skin

League of Legends has a milestone today, but it’s not a cause for celebration. Kayn, one of the champions in the game, has gone over 1,000 days without receiving a new skin.

Kayn was released in July 2017 and currently only has his base look and two other skin options. One of those skins, Soulhunter Kayn, was introduced alongside the champion’s launch and featured a redesign inspired by the Shadow Isles.

In 2018, Kayn received his most recent skin, Odyssey Kayn, which gave him a space-themed appearance. However, he has not been fortunate enough to receive any new skins since then.

At the time of writing, Kayn is the only champion in the “1,000 day skin club,” a term coined by a Reddit user named FalconGaels who keeps track of each champion’s skins. However, there may be more champions joining this club later in the year.

A document created by Raid Boss Morde highlights that both Fiddlesticks and Dr. Mundo will also join Kayn if they don’t receive new skins in the coming months. With Dr. Mundo undergoing a rework, it’s highly likely that he’ll receive a new skin soon. However, Fiddlesticks’ chances seem slim.

This year has been an anomaly in terms of the number of skins released for League of Legends champions. The document shows a chart illustrating the average number of skins released each year. While it began with an impressive average of 10.2 skins in 2009, it has now dwindled down to just one skin per year on average.

Designing new looks for Kayn, with his complex character design, may pose a challenge. Nonetheless, both League fans and Kayn mains eagerly hope to see something fresh for the Shadow Reaper soon.
