Invictus Gaming stuns JD Gaming, edges closer in LPL playoff race

Invictus Gaming Moves Up in LPL Standings with Win Over JD Gaming

Invictus Gaming has climbed higher in the LPL 2022 Spring Split Standings after defeating JD Gaming in a three-game series.

Both teams were in the middle of the standings before this match, but JD had a slight advantage in the playoff picture due to Invictus’ slow start in 2022.

Game 1: Kanavi Dominates as JD Takes Early Lead

In the first game, JD jungler Kanavi played a major role on Viego, setting the tone for JD’s early game. They maintained control of the objectives, particularly the dragons, which gave them an advantage in the mid-game. Invictus struggled to contest these objectives.

Game 2: Invictus Establishes Mid-Game Lead

The second game started off slowly, with both teams trading kills. However, beyond the 10-minute mark, Invictus started to gain the upper hand due to their mid-jungle duo of Hecarim and Twisted Fate. This allowed them to have more mobility on the map compared to JD, and they consistently won team fights throughout the mid-game.

Game 3: Invictus Upsets JD with Zeri Pick

In the final game, JD made a crucial mistake in the draft by leaving Invictus with the dominant Zeri pick. This pick proved decisive in the mid-to-late game, allowing Invictus to secure the upset victory over JD in a competitive three-game series.

Invictus Gaming will strive to improve their regular-season record to 6-6 as they face LGD Gaming and Anyone’s Legend in week seven.

For JD, this loss marks their second consecutive series defeat, bringing them to a 4-4 record in the LPL 2022 Spring Split. They will go up against Anyone’s Legend and Bilibili Gaming in week six.
