Invictus Gaming dominates G2 at MSI

Invictus Gaming Dominates G2 Esports at MSI 2019

In the semifinals of the 2018 League of Legends World Championships, Invictus Gaming decisively beat G2 Esports 3-0 to knock them out of the tournament. Today at MSI was no different.

After a delay, Invictus Gaming outplayed G2 in a bloody 29-minute game. G2 gained early momentum with three kills within five minutes by camping Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok. However, IG quickly responded by shutting down Martin “Wunder” Hansen, collapsing on the mid lane, and taking control of the map.

Once TheShy had a few items, he became unstoppable. IG capitalized on their advantage and fought G2 at every opportunity until they finally destroyed their Nexus.

It wasn’t the cleanest game, but IG proved themselves as a formidable team. G2 took a gamble with their composition, and although they seemed weaker, they had a chance to turn the tide. Unfortunately, their risky approach didn’t pay off this time.

The Chinese representatives finish day one of MSI as the top team. They were already the favorites, but with SKT’s loss against G2 earlier today, they now appear even stronger.
