Riot Games Unveils New Champion in League of Legends
Riot Games has finally revealed the next champion in League of Legends after much anticipation. Kindred, the Eternal Hunters, is a duo of two separate spirits: Lamb and Wolf. Lamb is depicted as a white furred, bow-wielding character wearing a black wolf mask, while Wolf is a shadowy feral spirit that circles around Lamb. These two spirits have a kit that plays off their duality, emphasizing Wolf’s fangs and Lamb’s weakness.
A Unique Passive Ability
Kindred’s passive ability, Mark of the Kindred, adds a new dimension to jungle play. Lamb marks an enemy champion for death, while Wolf marks a jungle mob. Every time they successfully hunt their marked targets, they receive a permanent stacking attack bonus. This allows Kindred to scale into the late game and become a formidable champion.
Potent Active Abilities
Kindred’s Q ability, Dance of Arrows, is a dash followed by a burst of arrows at nearby enemies. When combined with their W ability, Wolf’s Frenzy, Dance of Arrows becomes even more powerful. By activating Wolf’s Frenzy, Kindred throws Wolf at a targeted spot where he mauls the enemy that Lamb is attacking or the closest enemy. This ability reduces the cooldown of Dance of Arrows, making it similar to Vayne’s Vault ability. Wolf’s Frenzy also provides a heal on hit after stacking a buff, allowing Kindred to easily clear jungle camps.
Similar to Vayne, Kindred’s E ability, Mounting Dread, applies a slow and deals damage based on the target’s max health. However, to maximize the damage, Kindred needs to land three attacks after applying the ability.
An Ultimate Ability that can Change Games
Kindred’s ultimate ability, Lamb’s Respite, has the power to change the outcome of games. This ability creates a large zone under a targeted ally that prevents death for both allies and enemies. Champions inside the zone cannot drop to a critical level of health, and when it expires, everyone within it is healed for a flat amount. This ability has the potential to save teammates during ganks or turn the tide of team fights.
A Unique and Interesting Champion
Overall, Kindred is an intriguing and unique addition to League of Legends. While it may be challenging to fit into the game’s current meta, Kindred offers a different flavor and has the potential to shake things up.
