Introducing DAMWON Gaming: The Highly Anticipated LCK Team

DAMWON Gaming’s Journey to the LCK

Last summer, DAMWON Gaming had the opportunity to join the LCK but was knocked out in the 2018 CK Spring playoffs. Since then, DAMWON has fought their way into LCK qualification and emerged stronger than ever. They have only lost one match since the start of the 2018 CK Summer Split and have gained high expectations from fans and pundits alike.

DAMWON’s Star Solo Laners

DAMWON’s top laner, Nuguri, and mid laner, ShowMaker, are the team’s standout players. Nuguri specializes in carry champions like Camille, Jayce, and Aatrox, while ShowMaker excels at leading the team in teamfights. Their playstyle poses a challenge for opposing teams, as they have to decide whether to focus on stopping Nugiri or deal with DAMWON’s strong mid-lane presence.

The Support Staff

Contrary to their roles, Punch and Nuclear do not play the support role for DAMWON. That spot is filled by Hoit. Punch focuses on assisting Nuguri and ShowMaker in the early game, while Nuclear serves as DAMWON’s late-game assurance policy. With Hoit constantly roaming and coordinating with Punch, Nuclear often has to fend for himself in two-vs-one situations.

The Next TusiN?

Hoit, DAMWON’s support player, has drawn comparisons to TusiN, known for his Rakan plays. Hoit has shown a fearless playstyle, taking risks and making game-changing plays for DAMWON. With a coach like Kim Jeong-soo and rookie jungler Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu, DAMWON is evolving their playstyle, as seen in their recent KeSPA Cup top-four finish. The future holds exciting possibilities for DAMWON as they head into the LCK.
