International Elo Ratings for LCS Predictions on May 24, 2015

International Elo Ratings

A few weeks have passed since my last update and the first week of most major leagues have passed. Now that games are being played more regularly I’ll be updating every Sunday.

In China, LGD and World Elite are not doing well. Invictus Gaming, the winners of the IET 2015 tournament, are proving to be the second best team in China.

In Korea, the KOO Tigers have lost 4 out of their last 5 matches. Anarchy, one of the new teams in the LCK, have won a match against Najin.

The NA and EU LCS Summer splits have yet to start. Below are the ratings translated into expected wins for each team. Note that Elements is not included because they have a completely new team and haven’t played any games yet.

LCS Predictions

*Expected scores for the EU LCS are out of 16, not 18, because Elements has been excluded.

These predictions are based on past performance and do not take into account roster changes and other off-season changes. They provide a baseline for expected performance. For example, if you believe that CLG’s recent internal issues will affect their performance, then 8 wins would be a good estimate. However, if you think that with the addition of Pobelter, they will perform better, then 8 wins would be on the lower end of their expected performance.

That’s all for me this week. I’ll be updating every Sunday now that games are being played more regularly. I’ll also be posting an analysis of competitive League in NA soon based on detailed Elo ratings dating back to 2011.
