Inspired boosts Evil Geniuses’ playoff chances with win against FlyQuest in 2022 LCS Spring Split week 8

Evil Geniuses Make Strides Towards Mid-Season Showdown

With only three spots remaining in the Mid-Season Showdown, LCS teams are battling to secure their place in this significant event. Evil Geniuses (EG) are determined to claim a spot in the upper bracket after their recent victory over FlyQuest, leveling the playing field in the Spring Split. However, both teams still need to secure more wins this weekend to officially qualify for the playoffs.

In this match, EG’s player Kumo showcased Riven, a champion rarely seen in the LCS for years. Unfortunately, the melee-vs-ranged matchup didn’t favor FlyQuest’s top laner. Kumo fell quickly to a pre-10-minute dive, putting him behind and making survival difficult, even under his turret.

The reigning LEC MVP, Inspired, capitalized on Kumo’s struggle. Not only did Inspired hit level six before his opponent, Josedeodo, he also gained a significant advantage in the game’s first major team fight, thanks to his ultimate ability.

Playing as Viego, Inspired made sure FlyQuest had nowhere safe to roam, even in their own jungle. With a Guardian Angel in his inventory as his second item, Inspired acted as EG’s tanky frontline and fearlessly engaged with his Ruined King abilities. His exceptional performance earned him the title of player of the game, boasting a 5/1/8 KDA.

Despite FlyQuest’s attempts to engage EG from blindspots, they ultimately fell in their first match of the final weekend of the Spring Split. The tie between EG and FlyQuest for fourth place leaves both teams with a chance to qualify for the Mid-Season Showdown.

Tiebreakers May Determine Final Mid-Season Showdown Teams

If Golden Guardians and Dignitas achieve victories this weekend, there may be multiple tiebreaker matches to determine the three remaining teams for the Mid-Season Showdown. Currently, Cloud9, Team Liquid, and 100 Thieves have already secured their spots in the event.
