Inero resigns as head coach of Echo Fox, replaced by Thinkcard

Nick “Inero” Smith Steps Down as Head Coach of Echo Fox’s League of Legends Team

Nick “Inero” Smith, the head coach of Echo Fox’s League of Legends team, announced on Twitter that he will be stepping down from his position at the organization this week.

“I put in my two week’s notice with Echo Fox this week and won’t be on stage with the team this weekend,” Inero said. “I’m really thankful for the times I’ve had with the players and staff that I’ve been able to work alongside for this past year.”

Echo Fox Appoints Thomas “Thinkcard” Slotkin as Replacement

Inero will be replaced by current Echo Fox strategic coach Thomas “Thinkcard” Slotkin. In a follow-up post, Inero mentioned that he will continue working with the team for the next two weeks as Thinkcard transitions to his new role. However, after that, he will be leaving the organization.

Echo Fox is currently tied for first place in the North American LCS. Inero played a major role in the team’s success, including a third-place finish in the spring split. His departure is expected to have a significant impact as he has been a stabilizing force for Echo Fox over the past year. It will take time to build new synergy, even with someone like Thinkcard who is already established within the organization.

Inero’s Future Plans

It is unclear what Inero’s future plans are, but he is likely to remain involved in the League of Legends professional scene. In a tweet, he mentioned that he will not join a competing team as a coach this split out of respect for the Echo Fox players. However, he did not rule out the possibility of returning to the stage in future seasons.
