Preview: Immortals vs. Team Liquid
With the North American League Championship Series Final approaching, let’s take a look at the showdown between Immortals and Team Liquid. After last week’s intense match against TSM, Immortals has been in the community’s spotlight. However, the expected victory for Immortals turned out to be the exact opposite.
While many issues were visible during the match, the most notable were the controversial picks made by IMT during the drafting phase. Despite gaining an early advantage in Game 1, TSM played to their strengths and took the first game. From there, the series went downhill for Immortals, revealing various weaknesses that their opponents can now exploit.
On the other hand, Team Liquid has shown great promise in recent weeks. They secured wins against top teams like Cloud9 and Counter Logic Gaming. Although they narrowly missed the Finals, TL put up a great fight against Counter Logic Gaming, showcasing their drafting skills, teamwork, and positive attitude.
Why should you be excited for this 3rd place decider? While Immortals have some issues to work on, they managed to secure 1st place during the regular season with a significant lead. Their talented players should not be underestimated based on one bad series. I expect IMT to come back with a more meta team composition and a fresh mindset, ready to prove themselves as a strong team.
On the other hand, Team Liquid has been performing exceptionally well and continues to improve. They have displayed a good drafting phase, solid teamwork in-game, and a positive attitude. Many will favor TL to be victorious in this series.
My prediction for this series? I’m thinking a 3-1 or 3-2 win in favor of Team Liquid. Although it’s not the Finals, I anticipate a thrilling series from both teams.
