Impressive Rework Concept for League of Legends’ Skarner Shared by Fan

League of Legends Fan Creates Impressive Skarner Rework

A fan of League of Legends has taken it upon himself to answer the community’s request for champion reworks. Alfred Jäärf, a VFX artist at Resolution Games, has created a fully reworked model of The Crystal Vanguard, following the success of his previous Nocturne rework.

In a clip shared on Reddit, Jäärf showcases the reworked Skarner, complete with a new model, ability set, and visual effects. The concept stays true to Skarner’s lore while visually enhancing the champion. Changes include a bulkier physique and a repositioned pointed tip.

In Riot’s VGU poll of 2022, Udyr received the highest number of votes, followed by Shyvana. However, Skarner ranked closely behind as a beloved champion that players have been waiting to see reworked.

The reimagined Skarner features abilities that enhance the champion’s thunder motif. His new passive, Energized Namestone, grants armor and magic resistance out of combat. Additionally, Skarner can accumulate electricity, and when reaching 100 electricity, his next ability becomes empowered. Other abilities include Crystal Claws (Q), Electrical Exoskeleton (W), Crystalline Stinger (E), and Brackern Abduction (ultimate ability).

The modernized look of Skarner aligns with previous reworks in the League. With the League VGU poll for 2023 already open, the Skarner rework could become a reality soon.

Jäärf mentioned in the video that he has begun working on his next champion rework, Zilean, but cautioned against high expectations for an immediate release. His work can be found on ArtStation and his YouTube channel for future updates.
