Imp to Remain in China, Continues Playing for LGD

Gaming News: Imp Returns to LGD Gaming for 2016

Star AD carry Gu “Imp” Seung-bin will be returning to LGD Gaming in the upcoming year, as announced today on Chinese microblogging site Weibo. This means that LGD Gaming will once again have one of the most talented rosters in the Chinese League of Legends scene.

Imp has been consistently one of the best AD carries in League of Legends since the start of his career in 2012, regardless of the team he played on or the changes in the meta. He won the World Championship in 2014 as a member of Samsung Galaxy White and joined LGD Gaming the following year. Alongside top Korean top laners Acorn and Flame, China’s top support player Pyl, and rising star mid laner GODV, Imp had hopes of winning a second World Championship title.

However, LGD Gaming’s performance in 2016 was disappointing. They had moments where they looked like contenders for the World Championship, but they also had instances where they played poorly. They ranked fifth and sixth place respectively in the regular seasons of the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) in China, but performed well in the playoffs, finishing second in the Spring and winning the LPL title in the Summer.

Despite LGD’s inconsistent performance, Imp remained one of the strongest and most consistent players in League of Legends in 2016. The team may not need to make changes to their roster, as their issues were primarily with the coaching staff.

Looking ahead to 2017, LGD Gaming will likely make some changes to improve their performance, but Imp will not be one of them. His return to LGD Gaming is highly anticipated by fans.
