Immortals’ Winning Streak Reaches Four Games, Defeating First-Place 100 Thieves in LCS Summer Split Week 8

Immortals Defeat 100 Thieves in Convincing Victory

The playoff-bound Immortals secured their fourth consecutive win today with an impressive triumph over 100 Thieves, North America’s strongest League of Legends team. Despite coming into the contest with a record three games below .500, Immortals has displayed remarkable performance in the LCS over the past two weeks, positioning themselves as a top contender.

Immortals’ AD Carry, Res, played a crucial role in today’s match, showcasing his skills throughout the weekend. His exceptional performance on Draven has elevated the champion to a signature pick for the team. Across Immortals’ last two games, Res achieved a remarkable combined scoreline of 8/2/22 with Draven.

100 Thieves, who recently experienced a significant dip in form after their eight-game winning streak, have lost five out of their last nine matches. While they are widely regarded as the strongest team in North America, there are areas they need to improve before the postseason begins.

If 100 Thieves maintain their current level of play, they are likely to secure a spot in the World Championship later this year. However, for their domestic success to translate into international achievements, they must not only win games where they are heavily favored but also do so convincingly.

Struggling to secure victories against teams like Immortals has set a concerning precedent for 100 Thieves, who were deemed practically unbeatable just a few weeks ago. Although 100 Thieves held a 1,000 gold lead at the 16-minute mark, they ultimately fell behind due to a failed teamfight leading to a positional error resulting in the AD Carry, FBI’s death. FBI finished the day with a scoreline of 1/6/3.

In their final regular-season matchup next week, 100 Thieves will aim to end on a high note when they face TSM. If TSM defeats Cloud9 later today, both teams will be tied going into the Summer Split’s last three games.
