Hylissang Joins MAD Lions in LEC, Fulfilling Carzzy’s Desire for a New Home

League of Legends Support Hylissang Joins MAD Lions for 2023 Spring Split

In the latest roster change news for the League of Legends esports scene, long-time Fnatic support player Hylissang will be joining MAD Lions for the 2023 Spring Split. The announcement comes from independent reporter Alejandro Gomis.

After another strong showing at Worlds, Fnatic was expected to make some roster moves. There were rumors of acquiring Elyoya from MAD Lions, as well as the potential return of Rekkles. However, it seems that Hylissang will be leaving Fnatic to join MAD Lions instead.

Hylissang and Rekkles have been a formidable bot-lane duo for Fnatic, playing together for multiple splits. Unfortunately, they will not be reuniting as Hylissang heads to MAD Lions.

MAD Lions, who did not make it past Play-Ins in the 2022 season, will now have Hylissang as their support player. Interestingly, Fnatic had eliminated MAD Lions in the LEC Summer Playoffs just a few months ago.

Hylissang will be teaming up with veteran LEC AD carry Carzzy in the bot lane. Carzzy is returning to MAD Lions after a less successful stint on Team Vitality’s “superteam.” The duo decided to play together for the 2023 LEC split and chose MAD Lions as their destination, despite Hylissang’s history with Fnatic.

Hylissang has been with Fnatic for many years, making him the longest-tenured member of the organization. He will likely be replaced by Rhuckz from Fnatic’s academy team, Fnatic TQ.

With Elyoya, Armut, and Nisqy also staying with MAD Lions, it seems that the team’s roster is already solidified before the start of free agency. This will be the most veteran lineup that MAD Lions has ever had.

Hylissang’s move to MAD Lions will mark his third team in nearly a decade of professional play in League of Legends.
